However, unlike other services which only deliver food orders, Postmates also delivers groceries as well as over 20,000 other items. You will be expected to pass a background check once you sign up at Postmates. If you pass the background check, then you go on to an orientation in your area. How Much Money Can You Expect to Make at Postmates?
As you might imagine, a lot of it will depend upon you and your speed and performance. You will need a good, reliable cell phone where you will accept or reject orders as they come in. Obviously, the faster you accept the orders and deliver them, the more money you can make.
Postmates does claim on its website that you can make up to $25 an hour, which includes any gratuity accepted. Some customers do tip, and you are welcome to accept them. As a delivery driver, you will be paid 80% of the customer's total order before promotions or special offers are deducted out.
Like most driving jobs, food delivery prices do go up during peak times. So, if you can work during the peak meal times, then there will be even more money to be made. Payday is weekly via PayPal or direct deposit.

The biggest complaints seem to be about the pay being a lot less than $25 an hour with the average food order being too small to make more than minimum wage.
