If you are looking for work at home jobs around the world, below are 12 companies you can check. Customer support, AI training, and other types of remote work are included.

I’ve also included examples of countries where people have been hired or jobs have been advertised, so that you have a better idea of where these companies have offered work.

Some of the work is offered as employee jobs, while other opportunities are freelance projects.

12 Companies With International Work at Home Jobs

1. ModSquad

Countries have included the United States, United Kingdom, Costa Rica, and South Africa.

At ModSquad, you could be helping customers or moderating online communities, although some projects involve phone calls. Staff jobs and freelance projects are offered.

As a freelance Mod, you would choose from available project time slots each month, and a private, quiet workspace is needed. A laptop or desktop is required rather than a Chromebook or tablet, and steady hours aren’t guaranteed.

2. CrowdGen by Appen

Project countries include India, Argentina, Egypt, Malaysia, Japan, Germany, France, and the United States.

CrowdGen is Appen’s platform for freelance AI projects, where you could be recording speech, checking information, or reviewing content. Some tasks require special knowledge, and you may be asked to pass a test.

Rates are shown before you begin, and payment options include PayPal, Payoneer, and bank transfers, depending on availability. Since projects aren’t guaranteed, you should treat this as possible extra money rather than a steady paycheck.

3. 5CA

Hiring countries include Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia.

5CA offers customer and gaming support work through calls, email, chat, and social media, with different language requirements depending on the project.

For its English-language Latin American support opening, advanced English is required, while previous customer-service experience is optional and training is provided. You would need your own suitable computer, internet connection, and quiet workspace.

4. Preply

Tutors have worked from South Africa, the Philippines, India, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Preply is a tutoring marketplace rather than an employee job, so you would set your own rates and hours. No specific certification or teaching experience is required, although you must be 18 or older and your profile must be approved.

Just know that Preply keeps the entire fee for each new student’s trial lesson, then takes 18–33% of later lessons. Whether your application is accepted can depend on demand for your subject, and some countries are restricted.

5. SupportYourApp

Hiring countries include Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, India, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, South Africa, and Thailand.

With SupportYourApp, you would be helping customers through calls, email, or chat, and both customer-care and technical-support jobs are offered.

Formal IT or programming training isn’t required for all customer-care work, although many projects do require another language in addition to English.

6. TELUS Digital

Hiring countries include Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, India, Brazil, Mexico, Germany, and Japan.

TELUS Digital offers freelance projects where you would review search results, ads, or other content. Some projects accept beginners, although internet-safety work can involve upsetting material.

An assessment may be required, and some projects require several years of residency in the country.

If you want more options, FlexJobs also lists remote jobs for international readers, and you can search by country. You can try it for 14 days for $2.95.

7. Welocalize / Welo Data

Project countries include Canada, the United States, India, Germany, Japan, the Philippines, Mexico, and Argentina.

Welocalize recruits through Welo Data for search rating, ads rating, and other AI projects, so you would help judge whether information is useful or accurate.

An assessment may be required, and some projects have a minimum weekly commitment. For example, a Canadian French annotation project asks for advanced English and 15–20 hours each week.

8. Automattic

Countries have included India, France, Nigeria, Poland, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.

Automattic is behind WordPress.com and WooCommerce, with jobs in support, sales, marketing, and technical work. Support workers are often called Happiness Engineers.

A résumé and cover letter are requested, and you may be interviewed through Slack or asked to complete a practical test. Team travel can also be required, even though the work is remote.

9. Wikimedia Foundation

Hiring countries include Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, Morocco, the Netherlands, Poland, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and eligible US locations.

The Wikimedia Foundation supports Wikipedia, and remote work has included fundraising, communications, finance, and technology. Previous experience is needed for many jobs.

The current hiring policy covers 20 countries, rather than every country where existing staff live. Kenya and Singapore hiring is limited to citizens or permanent residents, and only certain US locations are eligible.

10. Zapier

Workers and hiring locations have included the United States, Canada, India, Thailand, and Malaysia.

Zapier connects work apps, with jobs in support, sales, marketing, and software development. Its team has worked across 40 countries, although hiring is limited by country for some jobs.

A degree is not required, and your answers to the application questions matter more than an optional résumé. Background checks are included, while some support jobs require technical experience.

11. Remote

Hiring countries have included the United States, Canada, and Japan.

Remote’s own team works across six continents, and jobs include customer care, operations, payroll, sales, and technology. Most of its jobs are globally remote, although individual roles may have location or time-zone restrictions.

12. Deel

Hiring countries include Germany, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, and Ghana.

Deel helps businesses with international hiring and payroll, with jobs in customer support, onboarding, operations, payroll, and sales.

Experience with a country’s payroll rules may be needed for payroll jobs. Also, Deel describes the work as fast-paced, so the working week may not be very predictable.

Work at Home Jobs for Canadian Readers

If you are in Canada, I have a separate Canadian remote jobs board that is updated a few times a week.

And if you want more companies to keep checking, I also have a list of companies with work at home jobs for Canadians. That is a general list, while the newer openings are posted on the jobs board.

Looking For More?

If so, FlexJobs is a good way to find them if you create an account and do a search. Their job board isn’t free, but I’ve been a member and found it to be really useful for me because all the job leads fit the following criteria:

  • All jobs are either remote or flexible in nature
  • Scam-free (all jobs vetted by humans before posting)
  • No ads or junk on their site, so you can browse distraction-free
  • Hundreds of jobs posted every day across tons of categories
  • Respected, long-standing, and truly useful

They let you try them out for 14 days for $2.95. So there is not much risk if you just want to create an account and see if you find anything you may want to apply for.

Good luck!
