I learned about another app you can use called Slidejoy that pays you a little for simply unlocking your Android phone. There was a similar app I reviewed a while back called Locket, but apparently they are no longer offering a paid option to the people who download. So, if you were using that one and you have an Android device, Slidejoy could possibly replace it.
At this time, Slidejoy is only open to people in the United States, and unfortunately you cannot use it on a tablet — it has to be an Android phone. If you're an Apple user, you'll be happy to know that Slidejoy is working on a version for iOS.
How It Works
After you install the app, you'll begin seeing ads when you go to your lock screen on your phone. You can choose to either swipe left or swipe right. Swiping left means that you're engaging with the advertisement and swiping right means that you've chosen to ignore the ad and simply want to unlock your phone.
All swipes — both left and right — equal money earned. You don't earn any more money for engaging with the ad than if you choose not to engage with it. Slidejoy has set it up this way so that you won't feel more inclined to swipe and go to an advertiser's landing page just because you know you get paid. This way they can be sure you're only visiting ads when they truly interest you — not because you get paid.
How Much Money?
The Slidejoy website does not say the exact amount you earn for swiping, but it's definitely going to be just extra money. I did read on Clark Howard's review of Slidejoy that for most users it should average out to about $5 to $15 per month, but then some users commented and said even with regular, daily unlocking of their phones they didn't believe they would make $5, or they would just barely make $5 in a month.
If you read the reviews of the app on Google Play (where it is rated 4 stars out of almost 4,000 ratings), someone there said they earn about 15 cents per day on average.
Regardless, this is one more of many smartphone apps that pay requiring little to no effort on your part. Just do what you do daily — unlock your phone — and know that you're earning a little money.

How You Get Paid With Slidejoy
There is quite a wait period to get your money. Currently, you can only cash out your current month's earnings three months after you've earned it. So for example, if you downloaded the app this month, whatever you earned this month couldn't be cashed out until December. But if you keep the app on your phone and earn money with it every month, you should be able to cash out every month thereafter.
It doesn't look like there is any minimum to cash out — you can get whatever you've accumulated.
Slidejoy Methods of Payment
To cash out, you can choose Paypal, or you can donate your earnings to charity.
I don't have an Android phone, but if I did I would probably download this one. Hopefully they will have an app for Apple soon.
The obvious pro here is that you can get paid for something you're going to be doing anyway — unlocking your phone. This is effortless cash even though it may not amount to a lot.
The biggest con I can see is the wait for cashing out the first time. But I did read on Slidejoy's website that they are hoping to decrease the wait time as they get more advertisers on board.
