10 Companies You’ve Heard Of With Remote Openings Now

As I am working on the lists of remote job leads most days of the week, I come across a ton of companies I've never heard of. This requires a little research to be sure that they are not scam companies (and if you source leads from a site like FlexJobs or LinkedIn, in most cases they check out).

But it goes without saying, I always feel better when I find openings from companies I'm already familiar with. This happens a LOT more now than it did back in 2010 when I started this website. Remote work is no longer associated in people's minds with the word “scam.”

And since the pandemic, many companies embraced remote work for their employees and haven't looked back, even though prior to the pandemic, they would never have considered it.

So today, I went through the list of job leads for the last few months and found the companies that are more or less household names with remote jobs open right now.

Please note this post is time sensitive, so if you find that any company in the list does not have an opening when you check, you can always keep tabs on their hiring pages to see if the job opens again or there are any other remote positions within the company.

Companies You've Heard Of With Remote Openings Right Now

Tovala – Customer Support Specialist. United States. Full-time. Provide customer support by phone, chat, and email, troubleshoot smart ovens and the mobile app, answer product and meal service questions, document customer interactions, and share feedback to help improve products and services. Shifts are scheduled between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. CT, including weekends. Requires strong written communication, basic technical troubleshooting skills, fast typing (40+ WPM), and the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment. Pay not listed. OLLY – Customer Service Representative. United States. Full-time, 40 hours per week; temporary 5-month contract. AAA The Auto Club Group – Remote P&C Licensed Insurance Customer Sales and Service Representative. United States. Full-time; afternoon/evening shifts with rotating Saturdays. Starts at $21.75/hour plus bonuses, sales incentives, overtime, and a $1,000 sign-on bonus for licensed Property & Casualty agents. You'll make outbound calls to warm leads to sell cruise vacation packages and build ongoing customer relationships. Requires a high school diploma or GED and 1 year of sales experience; Microsoft Office proficiency required. Starting at $15 per hour for first 10 pay periods, then $16,500 base salary plus commission; average annual earnings $65,000–$70,000. FlexJobs – FlexJobs is one of my favorite sites to use for finding remote jobs and learning about new companies that hire remotely. Most of what I see there when I check the listings pays well above minimum wage and are known companies.

The great thing about FlexJobs is that they guarantee ALL listings are scam-free. They list hundreds of jobs — all of which are either remote or flexible in nature — five days per week. There are also no ads on the site.

Because there are no ads, they do charge a membership fee since that is the only way they can see a return on their job-searching efforts. But it's cheap — you can get access to their listings for just $2.95 for a few weeks to be sure you like it!
