This page contains affiliate links. Regardless, I only promote quality products and services I’ve researched and trust.
If you want to work for yourself and you’ve fallen in love with the products offered by a company that happens to have a direct sales — party plan opportunity, why not consider building your own business selling those products? This can be a fun and rewarding way to earn an income from home. While direct sales doesn’t work out for everyone, I know several women personally who have either replaced their day jobs completely thanks to direct sales or are at the very least earning a nice side income selling the products that they love.
If you’re trying to decide whether or not to get involved in direct sales, this post might help.
Direct Sales Opportunities
So you want to get involved in direct sales but have no idea what to sell? I have built a large directory of direct sales companies right here on this website. The page contains a number of different categories — everything from candles and scents down to scrapbooks.
The choices here can be overwhelming. Make sure you do a lot of careful research before deciding on a specific opportunity.
Direct Sales Opps That Are Free or Cheap to Start
So you want to get started in direct sales, but you’re low on cash and can’t really afford a pricey start-up fee at the moment. Lucky for you, there are some companies that are pretty cheap to get going with and some others that are actually free! Please note that the start-up costs for specific companies are subject to change at any time. I do my best to keep this page updated, but there’s no guarantee it’s not out of date. You can always message me to let me know if I need to update a price I have listed.

Direct Sales Company Overviews
I have a number of overviews of various direct sales opportunities on this blog. Some of the overviews are in Q&A format where I’ve actually interviewed an existing consultant for a company to get some input, and others are general overviews where I’ve researched the company myself and shared the info for you. All of the reviews contain the most important info you need — how to get started, how much it costs to get started, what you get in your starter kit, and most importantly what commission you’ll earn.

Direct Sales and Scams
Some people believe the direct sales industry is “shady.” Well, there are certainly some shady MLM opps out there, but direct sales does not usually fall under that category. Most of the direct sales companies that you might be familiar with — Avon, Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, etc. — the focus is mostly on the product with a very small focus on building a downline. You can be successful in direct sales whether you recruit others to sign up under you or not provided you can sell your product.
This guest post by Angie Nelson does a great job of explaining exactly why direct sales isn’t a scam.
