Today, we are talking about which work at home companies are rated highest on Indeed. If you weren't already aware, Indeed is a website that catalogs all sorts of useful info about businesses, especially facts that would be useful to prospective employees.
For example, you can use Indeed to look up statistics about average salaries, check current job openings, or read reviews from former employees.
Because of the vast amount of data available, Indeed is one of the first places you'll definitely want to check when you're researching a company before applying for a job.
They track companies of all sizes, including big names like Amazon, and tons of small firms you've probably never heard of before.
If you're interested in getting into the work at home sphere, reviews are especially important because some companies don't treat their remote employees as well as they do those who work on-site. Honestly, that's just something you should keep in mind going in.
To make sure you don't get stuck in a bad situation, you'll definitely want to take advantage of every information resource you can find, but if you don't even know where to begin, all that research can take a lot of time.
With that in mind, we've scoured the Indeed database and put together this list of highly rated work at home job opportunities.
In the interest of variety, we tried to make sure there were several jobs on the list from all the more popular remote work categories, so a few excellent companies may not have made the list simply because their category was already over-represented.
1 – Apple
Indeed Rating – 4.1
I'm pretty sure everyone on planet earth has heard of Apple, but not everyone knows they hire quite a few remote workers!
There are occasionally home-based positions available at Apple, but the one with the biggest recruitment push right now is their “At Home Adviser” role: a phone-based customer service job. Pay varies by location and experience, but many estimates place earnings somewhere in the high teens to mid-$20s per hour.

2 – Italki
Indeed Rating – 4.3
This is a reputable English Language tutoring site where teachers can set their work rates.
The reviews for this company on Indeed are almost all very enthusiastic. Italki gets especially high scores in areas like Work-life balance and culture. A lot of the comments mention schedule flexibility as a big perk, and of course that's just so important when you're working from home.

3 – Wyzant
Indeed Rating – 3.9
Wyzant is an online tutoring marketplace where you set your own rate, choose your own subjects, and work on a completely flexible schedule. Unlike platforms that assign you students, Wyzant lets clients browse your profile and book you directly, which means the more you put into your profile, the more work you tend to get.
Tutors keep 75% of what they charge, with Wyzant taking a 25% cut. Reviews on Indeed are generally positive, with schedule flexibility and the ability to set your own rates being the most frequently mentioned perks.
That said, it works best as a side income or supplemental gig, so just know that building a full client base takes time. For teachers, subject matter experts, or anyone with specialized knowledge to share, it's one of the more straightforward platforms out there.

4 – Capital One
Indeed Rating – 3.9
This is a virtual call-center job from a well known company. They aren't always hiring for customer support work, so you have to keep tabs on their jobs page.
They get particularly high marks from workers on pay and benefits and work/life balance, which is maybe the most important thing to look for in a remote job.

Indeed Rating – 3.5
This company hires virtual assistants on an ongoing basis.
The pay rate is around $20 hourly, and hours are very flexible. Reviews are generally positive, with contractors frequently praising the quality of client matches and the flexibility of the work. Note that this is contractor work, so just know that benefits aren't part of the deal.

6 – 3Play Media
Indeed rating – 3.5
3Play Media is one of the highest rated transcription companies on Indeed, offering flexible contract work you can do entirely from home.
Many contractors report earning somewhere in the high teens to mid-$20s per hour, although actual earnings can vary based on speed, accuracy, and available work. Keep in mind that faster typists will definitely do better here.

7 – Textbroker
Indeed Rating – 3.4
This is one of the oldest and best established writing content mills on the net, and they have a high rating for a content mill.
The pay, which varies depending on your skill-rating, isn't great, but Textbroker is quick to give new writers a chance, and it's still one of the best places to learn the ropes of the freelance content biz. Honestly, I've seen a lot of writers get their start here and go on to much higher paying work.
The reason for the high Indeed rating is pretty simple. A ton of content writers out there have worked for Textbroker at some point along the way, and most of them did so at an early time in their careers, when they were still trying to figure out the basics.
A few months working for Textbroker could give you a good grounding in the fundamental skills needed to excel as a freelance writer, and you'll be able to carry that knowledge with you as you advance to higher paying gigs!

8 – DataAnnotation
Indeed Rating – 4.1
DataAnnotation is an AI training platform that pays contractors to write, review, and rate content used to train large language models. It's one of the more interesting remote opportunities to emerge in recent years, and the Indeed rating reflects that workers generally find the pay fair and the tasks engaging.
Pay rates are on the higher end for flexible remote work, with many reviewers citing earnings in the $20 to $40 per hour range depending on the project. Of course, work is fully remote with no set schedule, so that's a big plus.
Keep in mind that task availability can be inconsistent, so it could maybe work best as a side income rather than a primary one.

Looking For More?
If so, FlexJobs is a good way to find them if you create an account and do a search. Their job board isn't free, but I've been a member and found it to be really useful for me because all the job leads fit the following criteria:
- All jobs are either remote or flexible in nature
- Scam-free (all jobs vetted by humans before posting)
- No ads or junk on their site, so you can browse distraction-free
- Hundreds of jobs posted every day across tons of categories
- Respected, long-standing, and truly useful
They let you try them out for 14 days for $2.95. So there is not much risk if you just want to create an account and see if you find anything you may want to apply for.
Good luck!
