10 Work From Home Jobs That Pay $20 an Hour or More

Finding legitimate work-from-home jobs that pay $20 an hour or more is possible, although these openings are competitive. The ten companies below had qualifying remote positions open when I checked them.

Some only require a high school diploma and customer service experience, while the higher-paying non-phone or specialized jobs expect more specific skills.

At $20 an hour, a full-time 40-hour workweek equals about $41,600 per year before taxes.

Keep in mind that remote does not always mean you can work from every state. Some employers exclude certain locations or require employees to work set hours in a specific time zone.

1 – REVOLVE – Customer Service Rep

This full-time remote job is open to applicants in Idaho, Nevada, and Texas. You will answer customer questions by phone, email, live chat, and text, research complaints, and help resolve order and account concerns.

You need Microsoft Word and Excel skills and must type at least 50 words per minute. One year of customer service, help-desk, or call-center experience is preferred, and no degree requirement is listed. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday from 5 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Pacific, and the job pays $20-$24 per hour. A quiet workspace and wired internet of at least 50 Mbps are required.

2 – Generator Health – Prescription Experience Specialist

This full-time remote job involves helping patients and healthcare providers by phone, email, and text, resolving prescription delays, and coordinating prior authorizations. The schedule is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific, including Saturdays.

No degree requirement or minimum years of experience are listed. Client-facing, operations, and healthcare experience are preferred, and the application requires a LinkedIn profile and resume. The job pays $23 per hour.

You need at least two years of sales or customer service experience, high-volume calling experience, CRM familiarity, and experience using AI tools. The listed schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. in your U.S. time zone, and the job pays $23-$24 per hour plus incentive compensation and benefits. The application asks specifically about California or Montana residency, so applicants in those states should confirm eligibility.

4 – Syneos Health / GSW – Freelance Proofreader

This remote U.S. freelance job involves checking print and digital healthcare materials for accuracy. You will compare production files with approved layouts, review copy, images, and references, and flag discrepancies. Some projects require availability outside normal business hours, including evenings or weekends.

The current posting describes this as an entry-level editorial position and does not list a minimum number of years of experience. You need strong grammar skills and proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Word Track Changes and Adobe PDF markup. A related bachelor’s degree is preferred. The listed pay is $35-$40 per hour.

5 – Luminare Health – Customer Service Representative, LHB

You will handle a high volume of phone, written, and electronic questions about healthcare benefits, eligibility, and claim status. A high school diploma or GED and at least one year of customer service experience are required.

The job pays $20-$22 per hour and may include an annual bonus. Paid training lasts four to six weeks from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT, while the regular schedule is 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. CT with rotating weekend shifts.

This full-time position is open throughout the continental U.S. except Alaska, California, Hawaii, and New York.

6 – Thyme Care – Enrollment Specialist

This full-time remote job is open to applicants in the lower 48 United States. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern, for 40 hours per week.

Make about 80–100 outbound calls each day, explain cancer-support services, enroll members, and document their needs. The company says this role is ideal for people with sales experience or recent college graduates with at least one year of experience in a fast-paced setting. You need a private, quiet workspace, reliable high-speed internet, and comfort using online tools. Virtual onboarding and training lasts three weeks.

Pay is $24.03/hour, with medical, dental, and vision insurance and a vacation policy for full-time employees. A discretionary bonus of up to $833 per month may be available after successfully completing the 90-day probationary period; it is not guaranteed.

7 – Aviary – Patient Enrollment Specialist – Contractor

This full-time U.S. remote position is independent contractor work. You would make outbound and receive inbound calls, explain healthcare services, enroll patients, help with basic technology questions, and arrange appointments.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. or 11 a.m.–7 p.m. Eastern. Applicants need one to two years of customer service experience, and the listing also asks for previous payroll industry or related experience. College experience is required, with a degree strongly preferred, and the listing asks for knowledge of both Xero and QuickBooks.

The pay is $24-$25 per hour. Benefits include possible bonus pay, stock options, four weeks of paid time off, insurance, parental leave, and a 401(k) match.

9 – Mainspring Energy – Associate Operations Support Specialist II

This full-time remote position follows a four-day schedule with Wednesday through Saturday shifts from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. PT. You will monitor system alerts, follow troubleshooting steps, restart equipment, document problems, and escalate more complex issues.

The listing asks for previous operations, dispatch, or customer support experience, basic technical aptitude, and familiarity with troubleshooting hardware and software. A bachelor’s degree is preferred rather than required, and the job pays $22-$26 per hour with benefits and pre-IPO restricted stock units (RSUs).

10 – Gainor Staffing – Human Resources Assistant

This temporary, fully remote job is open to New York residents. You will help with onboarding paperwork, maintain employee records and HR systems, manage a shared HR inbox, answer routine employee questions, and assist with reports and other administrative work.

You need one to three years of experience in HR, recruiting coordination, or administrative support, plus Microsoft Office skills and experience with HR systems, employee records, or onboarding. No degree requirement is listed. The job pays $25-$30 per hour based on experience; exact hours and benefits are not specified.

These openings show that not every remote job paying $20 or more requires a college degree. However, most employers still want customer service experience, strong communication skills, technical comfort, or experience in a specific field.
