Ways to Make Money Reviewing Products (Without a Big Following)

When you see people out here reviewing products and earning from it, you probably assume that's not possible for you because you don't have a large social media following or popular YouTube channel. But you'd be wrong!

You actually can earn money reviewing products even if you're not a traditional “influencer.” And one way to do that I'm going to discuss today is the Amazon Influencer Program (mainly the review aspect of it).

First off, this is not really a job or a way to make money right away. But it can be good flexible side income if that's what you're looking for.

Some influencers make full-time income with this, but it can take a while to reach that point.

How making money with product reviews actually works

If you're part of Amazon's influencer program, you basically just upload short product review videos which will then appear directly on Amazon product pages. Shoppers who are already on those pages browsing will see these videos, and then decide if they should purchase.

If someone watches your video and then buys the item reviewed in the video, you earn a commission.

This is pretty simple because you're not having to drive traffic to anything, ship products out, or even deal with customers! The buyers are already there, on Amazon, thinking about the purchase.

Your video is just a product review that (hopefully) convinces them to go ahead and make the purchase.

What happens after you’re approved

Once approved for the Influencer program, Amazon will require you to submit your first three review videos before you’re fully unlocked for on-site placements. These videos don’t need to be fancy, professionally edited, or filmed in a studio.

However, there are rules, and choosing the right products at this stage matters more than most people realize. Some products convert much better than others, and reviewing the wrong items can slow your progress or lead to rejections.

This is where having clear guidance helps, because trial-and-error can of course be frustrating.

The income potential after you get going

The amount you're going to earn as an Amazon Influencer is dependent on how many videos you have posted as well as the price of the products you are reviewing.

The more videos you have, the more they'll get seen. The more costly the products you review, the higher your commission will be if people purchase.

A free guide that explains the process step by step

Because the Amazon Influencer Program is a multi-step process, I usually recommend starting with a clear overview before investing much time.

There’s a free ebook that walks through how the program works, how to apply properly, and what to expect after you've been approved for the program.

This guide explains the common mistakes people make when applying, how to get your first three videos approved faster, and how to choose products that tend to earn better commissions.

Are you curious about it? If so, this short guide will give you the details you need to determine if it's for you.

Good luck if you try this, and let me know how it goes for you!
