This is typically just temporary and project-based work that you complete within weeks or months at most (some even less than that), but it can pay well and be some quick cash for you.

Short-Term Tasks & Projects You Can Do Remotely
TELUS Digital – Online Data Analyst. United States. Part-time, freelance, long-term. Research, verify, and compare online information to help improve the quality and accuracy of digital maps and other AI-related content. Pay not listed (similar TELUS AI projects typically pay around $14.00 per hour). No previous professional experience required, but you must pass an open-book assessment and ID verification. Requires strong English skills, U.S. residency for the past 5 consecutive years, online research skills, and a computer with reliable broadband internet. Read TELUS review.
Outlier – AI Trainer – Blind & Low Vision. United States (excluding Texas, Illinois, and Washington). Flexible, 1099 contract. Test an AI visual assistant using an Android phone, rate how accurately it describes real-world scenes, and provide feedback to improve accessibility for blind and low vision users. Pays up to $35.00 per hour. Requires blindness or low vision, regular use of assistive technology, an Android smartphone with a camera, and native English fluency. Paid via PayPal or AirTM. Outlier – English Writing and Content Reviewing Expertise for AI Training. United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. Flexible, 1099 freelance contract. Write natural prompts, review and rank AI responses, and help improve AI models through writing and content evaluation tasks. Pays up to $15.00 per hour, with additional incentive opportunities. Requires strong English writing, analytical thinking, and attention to detail. Writing, editing, or content review experience is preferred. Paid weekly.
Alignerr – Map & Location Data Analyst. United States. Freelance, 10–40 hours per week. Review AI-generated addresses, place names, and map data, identify errors, and use your local knowledge to improve the accuracy of location information. Pays $40.00–$120.00 per hour. No GIS or AI experience required. Requires familiarity with your local area, strong attention to detail, basic online map skills, and clear written communication. Alignerr – Product Review Analyst. United States (Remote). Freelance, 10–40 hours per week. Review AI-generated product reviews, descriptions, and comparisons, rate them for accuracy and quality, and provide feedback to help improve AI recommendations. Pays $40.00–$120.00 per hour. No prior AI, retail, or e-commerce experience required. Requires attention to detail, strong written communication skills, familiarity with online shopping, and the ability to work independently. Scale AI – Subject Matter Expert. United States and Canada. Part-time, hourly, project-based. Review and audit AI-generated work, evaluate quality, identify problems, and help improve quality standards and scoring guidelines for AI projects. Pay not listed. Requires deep expertise in a specialized field (such as medicine, law, or engineering), strong analytical skills, and attention to detail. Quality assurance or auditing experience is preferred. Flexible schedule with the ability to choose your own hours.
DataForce by TransPerfect – Gardenia Speech Collection. United States. Temporary freelance project (about 30 minutes). Record short wake-up phrases and scripted voice commands to help improve AI voice assistant technology. Pays $25.00 for one completed and approved recording session. Requires being at least 18, a native U.S. English speaker born and living in the United States, access to a mobile phone, and a quiet place to record. Payment is available by PayPal, gift card, or check.
Datavio – Speech Data Collector – French Canada. Canada. One-time freelance project (about 25–30 minutes). Record short French phrases online to help improve speech recognition technology. Pays $35.00 USD via PayPal after your recordings are reviewed and approved. Requires being a native French Canadian, bilingual in English and French, living in Canada, and having a computer or smartphone with good audio quality.
Datavio – iOS Evaluator. United States. Freelance, 10–15 hours per week (flexible). Test iPhone apps by following step-by-step scenarios, report bugs, and provide feedback to help improve mobile applications. Pay is per approved evaluation (rate not listed). Requires fluent English, an iPhone, reliable internet, a high school diploma or equivalent, familiarity with mobile apps, and strong attention to detail. Independent contractor position.
OneForma – Project Rover – Video Data Collection. Worldwide. Freelance, one-time project (about 1 hour). Upload or record real-world videos that meet project guidelines to help train AI systems that understand environments, movement, and navigation. Pay is a fixed amount per approved video (rate not listed). Requires the ability to provide original, copyright-free videos, follow technical requirements, review footage before submitting, and tag each video correctly. Work is fully remote.
