What Is Fetch?
Fetch is a free app that gives you points just for uploading your shopping receipts. That's really it! You shop like you normally would, save your receipts, snap a photo of them in the app, and earn points. Those points can then be turned into gift cards for places like Amazon, Walmart, Target, and more.
It works for both in-store and online shopping, and you don't have to change where you shop or what you buy to make it work. Fetch fits right into your existing routine.
Is Fetch Free to Use?
Yes, completely free! There is no membership fee, no subscription, and no catch. You just download the app, create a free account, and start snapping receipts. The app is available on both the iOS App Store and the Google Play Store.
How Do I Get Started?
Getting started takes less than five minutes. Here's all you do:
Download Fetch from the App Store or Google Play. Create your free account, only takes a few seconds. If someone referred you, enter their referral code before you snap your very first receipt. If you signed up with their unique referral link, then you can skip that step, too, because it will already be in place.
Once your account is set up, you're ready to start earning!
How Do I Earn Points?
The main way to earn points is by snapping photos of your receipts. You can upload up to 35 receipts every seven days, so there is plenty of room to earn. Just snap a photo of your receipt using the orange button in the app.
One important thing to remember: physical receipts need to be uploaded within 14 days of your purchase date. After that, they can't be processed!
You can also earn extra points through the Special Offers section of the app. Brands pay to be featured there with high-point deals, kind of like digital coupons. Buying those featured products before you shop can really boost your points fast.
I did a few of these in the three weeks I used the app, and it helped me get enough to cash out faster.
What Receipts Can I Upload?
Almost any shopping receipt works! Grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, clothing stores, home improvement stores — if you bought something and got a receipt, it's probably worth snapping.
The receipts that don't work are things like:
Return receipts, utility and medical bills, prescription slips, movie or concert tickets, airline tickets, ATM receipts, and takeout slips that don't show where the food is from.
If you shop online, you can also earn points through the eReceipts feature which is my favorite and I have found to be very handy. Just connect your email account, Amazon account, or even your Walmart account inside the app, and Fetch will automatically find your digital receipts and give you credit for eligible purchases.
With those, you do not need to print anything out or take a photo of your screen. Fetch finds them for you once your accounts are connected.
How Do I Refer a Friend?
If you want to share Fetch with someone (and earn a little bonus when they join), it's super easy. Open the app, tap the Account tab in the bottom right corner, and select “Refer a Friend.”
You'll see your personal referral code, and the app even gives you a pre-written message you can send by text, email, or your favorite app. Just copy and share!
How Do I Cash In My Points?
This is the fun part! Once you've built up enough points, go to the Rewards tab at the bottom of the screen. Browse by category or search for the gift card you want.
You need at least 3,000 points to redeem most rewards, but you'd be surprised how quickly you can get there.
When you find the reward you want, tap it, select the dollar amount, and hit “Get My Reward.” A confirmation screen will pop up asking you to double-check your choice. Once you confirm, your reward starts processing.
How Long Does It Take to Get My Reward?
Fetch says rewards can take up to 72 hours (three days) to process. In my own experience, it was right on that timeline. I redeemed for an Amazon gift card code on a Friday, and by Monday it was sitting in my rewards section ready to use.

Is Fetch Worth It?
In my opinion, absolutely yes. Especially if you're just tossing your receipts currently. You may as well earn something for them if you can.
