  1. Terrific article with some great ideas! I want to push this further and say look around you and see what resources you have that you can convert into income. If you have land, you can possibly sell veggies at the farmer’s market. If you can preserve food or develop special seasonings, there is a specialized market. Use your imagination, watch what people want, and fulfill that need. https://kathygaudry.com

  2. Anna, you are AMAZING! Thank you for this list, as well as all of the included links. What a fantastic blog!

  3. I’m a stay-at-home mom since my first child was born. Now I have two lovely children which I am able to spend more time tending to. Why? Because I sell wall vinyl decal designs from home.

I did all my research online like on YouTube and even sign vinyl forums like vinylforum.org.

Most of what I learned about my interior wall design business was from a site called Wall Decal Business at walldecalbusiness.com

The gentleman who runs the site is a full-time school teacher and he does this from home as a part-time. He tells you all about the wall decal business and his personal experiences. Take a look if interior wall design is for you.

  4. I’m really good with CV’s, I’m going to start looking into helping others with that. Thanks for the great idea.

  5. Will someone pls respond to my post:

How do I start w/ pet sitting? I did that for a friend this past summer when their family went on vacation.

    • I don’t know anything really about pet sitting businesses Bev, apart from it being something people do as a home-based business, but I did find this WikiHow article that provides some additional information – http://www.wikihow.com/Start-a-Pet-Sitting-Business

      • Pet vacay is a good place to start. Google it. I know people who have done it and said it worked out well!

  6. This is a wonderful list and great ideas. The thing that stops me most often in exploring ideas (such as all the ideas that you have outlined in your post) is some guideline in actually DO-ing the ideas. If I have some idea how other people are doing it and can see a few steps in the best direction to make these ideas come into fruition — it gets my juices going and sweep the “doubts” that seem to sit on my shoulder constantly. But I love your post because it’s the first step to seeing the world is full of opportunity — all we have to do is take one. Right?

    • Good point! There are lots of great resources online though. I may make it a side project to link each one of these to something online that gets useful information on getting started.

  7. Hello Anna, thanks for the great post. I’m at a stand still right about know and having a hard time. I wanted to know how would I go about starting one of these job or business?

    • It would depend on which type you wanted to start. I’ve never actually started one of these businesses myself so I could not advise you on that, but I may be able to point you in the right direction toward someone who could.

  8. I often thought about party planner since I love planning parties but not sure how to get started or what the cost would be to get started.

  9. Great list!

  10. Hi Anna,

I know I haven’t visited in a while. I’ve been a little busy myself. Anyway, I definitely love this list. As always, you’ve outdone yourself. I realized that I’m pretty good at transcription and I have been doing work for Scribie for almost three weeks now. They’re a great way to get my foot in the door and I hope I can apply for another transcription company in the future. However, I do try to avoid audios that aren’t very clear since I don’t have a foot pedal yet.

  11. Love this. I’m erratic in what I like to do work at home wise based on pay and lack of inspiration..mostly with writing. This list is great to keep in mind when I want to look for a change or something new to learn 🙂

  12. Hi Anna,

Lot’s to choose from and I am sure you could continue on and on. There are so many opportunities available and with a little bit of imagination a home business can really expand if one wants it to.

By the way I really like the color scheme of your site.

    Dita
