5 Ways to Get Paid For Making Lists

People love to read lists, and writers like to make lists. I make plenty of them here! It's a win-win because they are easy to write, and they are also easy to read. Because lists are so popular, there are websites that only post lists. So for today's post, I've created a list (go figure) of sites that pay you to make lists for them! 🙂

1 – Listverse – $100 per list

This is one of the highest-paying and most known sites that will pay you to make lists.

You can earn $100 for an accepted list. The list must be at least 1500 words with a minimum of ten items on your list. Listverse will also link to your blog, Twitter, or an eBook you want to promote if you have it. Go here to read our full review of Listverse.

2 – Cracked – $100 to $200 per article or list

Cracked accepts lists as well as other types of content, but it says plainly on their website that the list-style articles are always some of their most popular.

They make no secret about being extremely picky when it comes to what they choose to publish, but the pay is great if you're lucky enough to get your content published. Cracked is not a site we've reviewed for writers (although we probably should), but I did find some great info here on Reddit about how the process of writing for them works.

3 – Wonderslist – $5 for lists

You can submit lists of at least 10 items, containing at least 800 words, to this site. Each list can include your byline. Payments are via Paypal or Payoneer.

4 – Sporteology  – $7 for lists

This site focuses exclusively on sports content. Initially you’ll have to submit articles as a freelancer, but there’s a chance of being absorbed into their main writing staff if they like your content.

Submissions should be formatted as top-10 lists with a minimum length of 1000 words. The pay is $7 per article, delivered via Paypal or Payoneer.

5 – The Backyard Boss – List Article Writer

The Backyard Boss (via Valnet Freelance) is looking for remote list article writers. They are looking for people in the US and also Canada to do this.

In this role, you will work on a freelance basis, creating dynamic, list-based articles about video games.

You must be able to contribute 30+ articles per month with no upper limit.

To be considered, you must provide samples of writing work on video games.

Rate of pay not listed.

P.S. – If you like this and find it helpful, why not buy me a coffee? Thanks so much for your support!

  1. Listofied is an easy spot to write your lists in the content world. Very little demands are put on the writer for a list as short as ‘5’ items. There are some rules about how many links for how many words, but it is a very flexible site to write for that

  2. I just wanted to let you know about History Lists. As of September 1, 2015 they won’t accept new submissions due to the influx of current submissions. If it’s still there when you read this, it is in a yellow box at the top.

  3. I’m a history buff, so maybe that will finally pay off for me at history lists. I’m already excited thinking about all the lists I could make just pertaining to George Washington.
