Work at Home Sending Medication Reminders For Pleio-Goodstart

There is a company called Pleio that may hire you to work at home as a “Good Starter.” A Good Starter is a person who calls patients that have been given prescriptions to help them remember to take them, answer questions, and also help them get on a schedule for taking their medicine.

Good Starters also call patients to see if they want to opt in to the Good Start program. From what I understand, you read from a script that's given to you.

This is phone work (outbound calling), but it's flexible and will pay well. Here are some more details:

Good Starter Pay

Due to a non-disclosure agreement, Pleio workers are not allowed to publicly share how much they make. However, it is rumored that on average you might make between $10 and $15 hourly.

Pay is per completed phone call. The exact rate will depend on the drug program you're on and could also vary depending on the hours and days of the week you work.

You will be paid once a month via direct deposit to your bank account sometime between the 15th and 21st of each month.

Good Starter Location Requirements

You must be located in the United States. However, they do not accept applicants from North Dakota, Ohio, Washington, or Wyoming.

Your Work at Home Schedule With Good Starter

This is pretty flexible work, but you do have to commit to at least 15-16 hours per week, and you can work up to 40 hours depending on availability.

The calling times are from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday (patient's time zone) and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays. There is no calling done on Sundays or major holidays.

You choose when you make your calls, but you do have to put in the minimum number of hours each week.

Independent Contractor or Employee?

Pleio hires you as an independent contractor. If you would prefer not to work from home as an independent contractor, you can go here to see a list of employee work at home jobs.

Temporary or long-term work?

This is a contract (temporary) job that may range from 8 to 12 weeks. However, you may get to continue working past your contract if the drug program you're doing calls for ends and there is another available.

Technical Requirements For Good Starter

To do this job, you need:

  • Must have a PC and good PC-computer skills, no Macs
  • A land line with no features, not cell phone, and quiet and secure place to make your calls.
  • A high-speed internet connection, minimum 1 Mbps
  • Windows 7 or higher
Someone left a lot more detail on the tech requirements in the comments below if you want to know more.

Other Requirements

They prefer people who are outgoing with a pleasant phone voice.

It also helps if you really enjoy helping/talking to other people and you are a good listener. If you have prior customer service experience, that is a bonus but you will still be considered even if you don't.

Also, you cannot be a licensed or registered doctor (MD or DO), nurse (NP, RN, or LPN), pharmacist (RPh), or pharmacy technician.

The Application Process

You can apply at the Good Start website. The initial application process involves a screening, technical aptitude test, and then a mock call.

After you've done all this, you wait to hear back from them by email, at which point you'll be prompted to send in your resume and fill out an application. Then, you wait to be contacted for a phone interview.

If the phone interview goes well, you'll be informed about upcoming training classes and invited to participate. Training typically last for four days.

As far as fees are concerned, you will be asked to pay $45 for your background check. Being asked to pay for a background check is pretty common with phone-based home jobs. Unfortunately, this is not money you get back if you don't get the job.

If you would prefer a work at home job without startup costs, check out this list of no fee work at home jobs.

If you would like to go ahead and get started, you can go here to begin the application process.

Please keep in mind the company may or may not be actively seeking workers depending on when you apply. Good luck!

  1. I have worked with Pleio. Its a little different because they pay per “successful” call but I’ve had a wonderful experience especially with management. They really care about their agents and want you to succeed.

  2. Thank you so much for posting this! I officially became a goodstart mentor with pleio today!

  3. I wouldn’t be able to do this since my computer isn’t “hardwired to the internet” (I use a laptop and Verizon FioS internet). Bummer. 🙁

    • The company takes your $45.00 background check first, then you need to know the script in 3 days. Its not what I thought, where you can be so sweet, and be a daily reminder service to patients.
Its a scripted program through a pharmacy, Have to stay on the script they gave you!!

  4. i just did my phone interview last night and am now onboarded (which means they are waiting for a contract to come in!) The lady was really nice and I’m so excited to start, Pay is nice but it’s per completed phone call! She also told me not to buy anything until I sign my contract!

  5. I applied for this job and received an e-mail the next day that they reviewed my info and would not be going any further. I was disappointed, as I met all of the qualifications that they require, and I have over 25 years in the medical field, and a spotless work record/ethic. I was shocked and disappointed, but there are other jobs that are meant for me.

  6. Hi, I just finished only 4 day training {4 hours each day}, passed all quizzes with 100% on 4th day of training you have to “role play” scripts. Myself and most of my class were nervous, which they said that’s fine! We all stumbled on certain things. .I received a letter did “not” get the job. It may be a great company, But the 4 days of training was not just reading scripts, it covered a lot of things you have to know…and I did read scripts…morning, noon and night. thought I had it aced! But guess jitters set in, when your being tested on it. I also had to purchase a phone with jack on the side, and headphones to go with, $101.00 which can now be returned no big deal! All and All wish they had longer training, 4 days is alot to absorb for newcomers, or another whole day of just script reading roles .And lost 45.00 background check money…..oh well…..There will be another job.

  7. I am going through training just now, and I have to say I am really excited about this opportunity!

The trainers are super nice, and there is a very thorough amount of training available. Totally worth it.

Thank you so much for your review, Anna T!

it really helped with me making a decision to apply for work.

  8. I wonder if they will accept deaf people? I do have phone called sorenson video phone that will allow me to communicate with anyone anytime. I have all what was required plus some medical background so I hope that will outweigh the fact that I am deaf.

    • I am not sure, Gloria, but there is certainly no harm in trying! Good luck, and do let us know how it turns out if you decide to apply.

  9. Hi , I too was interviewed today and was put on a waiting list. Hope the classes start soon. My interview was less than 10 minutes. It was quick and easy just make sure you smile as you speak 🙂

  10. I just interviewed with this company and was hired. However, I am on a waiting list for the next training session. This sounds very hopeful as another “egg” in my basket. I thought I would let you know that they are actively interviewing at the moment. 🙂 Love this blog!

    • Gee, the waiting list must be huge!!! I still have not heard anything since August 10th and even wrote the lady that interviewed me and said I was hired. Now, they are advertising again?!? How about the people that were already “hired” and they don’t respond to?

      • I saw this posted on another home job board the other day, so I thought they may possibly be hiring again. Regardless, they do always have their application page up. You may want email them and ask if you’re still on the waiting list. Hopefully they aren’t that disorganized!

  11. I just quit this job. It is a good company and the support you receive is fantastic. I found 3 problems; #1. they pay only once a month . They pay for Augusts work in September on about the 15th each month. #2. You do not get paid unless you are able to read entire script to person answering phone. #3. They do not pay for your training.

  12. Hi all i was just wondering if you still needed a landline phone or if this company not let’s you use voip, skype, etc. TIA

    • I checked into this once before, and I’m pretty sure you do need a land line. But if you are interested in other companies that don’t require a land line, you might want to read this post:

      https://realwaystoearnmoneyonline.com/2012/08/work-at-home-phone-jobs-not-requiring-a-land-line.html

  13. I just got hired to be on the Saturday Team only I will keep everyone posted on how it goes! I’m excited about this company, I heard nothing but good things about it.

  14. Can someone please copy and past the mock call script for me here. I am in the application process and it will not open from the email I rec’d

    Thank you!

  15. God Bless Everyone,
I just applied for this job a few minutes ago, and I am waiting on an response from this company. I pray that I get this job, before this month is over because I am a people person and I love helping the elderly. I have effective interpersonal and communicative skills. Currently, I am a full-time college student in Graduate school, working on my Master of Science Management Degree. Please everyone on here, pray that I get hired for this job, before this month is over? Have a blessed weekend, week and evening everyone.

  16. Hey, I have completed my application, mock call and technical requirement testing and I got an email yesterday saying congrats on getting the position as an agent. I applied only 2 days ago. I start training which is for 3 days in a row at the end of this month. I am praying that I get put into a drug program that pays the highest amount per call they offer. I know it all depends on how well you do in training. Also it is required that you work 16 hours minimum per week. I would encourage anyone interested to apply now because they are accepting applicants for this months training period.

  17. I am not qualified because i am not bilingual. Those that were hired are you fluent in spanish / english? Do they make eceptions?

    thanks,
    Ana

    • Ana, I don’t work for them personally but I bet it depends on their needs at any given time. I would say that right now they are looking for bilingual people, but other times they may be open to all candidates. Just keep a watch on it and apply at a later time when they might have a need for people who are not bilingual.
