How to Join Pinecone Research & Why You Should

Pinecone Research has long been my top recommendation for online surveys. This post explains how to join Pinecone Research as well as what to expect once you're a member.

There are lots of survey research panels out there. So many, in fact, that browsing through my survey panels list could make your head spin when trying to decide which ones to join.

But if you were going to tell me that you only wanted to register yourself with ONE of those panels, I would say to try signing up with the Pinecone Research panel.

Unlike other survey companies, Pinecone is a good bit more selective in who they allow to sign up. They are only looking for people in specific demographics at specific times. It took me a good year or year and a half to find a banner.

However, finding their banners now isn't so difficult, but they still don't guarantee acceptance when you register. As I said above, I feel they are the best survey panel, and they have been for a long time. Below are five reasons I feel that way about Pinecone.

Pinecone Research – Reasons to Join

1. You Can Get $3 For Every Survey

Most other survey panels don't guarantee you a set amount of money when you answer their surveys.

The exact amount will vary depending on how long and complex the survey is, and quite frankly sometimes you'll be lucky to get twenty cents to a buck for spending twenty minutes answering redundant questions. But with Pinecone Research surveys you can get $3 for each.

Even though they do now pay in redeemable points, it is still possible to redeem your points for $3 in cash for each survey.

2. You Can Get Paid Fast

If you've used other survey panels, you know payments move slowly. You might have to wait until you have a certain amount to cash out your earnings, or you may have to wait 6-8 weeks for the company to finally get around to mailing you a check.

But not with Pinecone Research. They offer an option for either Paypal payment or mailed check, and your payments are processed the next business day following survey completion. For the majority of people, mailed checks arrive within a few business days, and Paypal within a few hours to a few days.

3. They Send Out Paid Product Tests

There are lots of product testing sites out there, but most of them do not pay you for doing the testing. The product you test is considered your only compensation.

But not with Pinecone Research. Not only do they send out fairly regularly product testing invites, they also pay you for answering the follow-up survey following your test! And yes, you get to keep the products you test, too.

4. No Disqualification From Surveys

I review a LOT of survey panels on my other site, Extra Cash & Rewards. When I get negative comments on survey panels over there, most of the time it's someone complaining about “screening out” too frequently.

This is something that happens with many survey panels. They will send survey invites to lots of people and allow them to answer several questions before telling them they don't qualify to complete a survey — which means in many cases you might have spent valuable time for nothing.

But Pinecone Research doesn't do that. If they send you a survey invitation, they already know that you're qualified to take and complete it.

5. Pinecone Research Feedback Speaks For Itself

Don't take it just from me. Do a search online and see for yourself how many people sing the praises of Pinecone Research, and have done so for years now.

  1. Pinecone is awesome! Thanks for posting about it. They paid me quick by check and now I can get PayPal payments when I decide to cash in my points. I like that I feel like I’m actually making a difference.

  2. I’ve been with Pinecone for about 18 months now and love it! I average about $12 per month. I always complete the information surveys (which are short and unpaid) and then almost always get a paid survey to take. I’m just letting the $$ accumulate in my paypal account for Christmas.

I think I found them via this site. Thanks for all your hard work!

  3. I use to be on pinecone research. I enjoyed it. Not just for the money more for being a voice and heard. It was fun get a product in the mail and check it out! And then be able to be honest with out prejudice on either side. I would like to sign back up, but don’t know how. A friend recommended me then. What do I do? Thanks. Frank Neeley

    • There should be a link in this post that will take you to the registration page, Frank. They may or may not be looking for your demographic right now, but you can always give it a try at anytime.

    • My bad, the site is great but it isn’t for me since I am not a US resident. You should not have a market research background too because they ask you first using the form. It really isn’t for me.

  4. I’m with Pinecone (the UK one). Been with them for a few years or so. On average I get a survey a month from them, and though that doesn’t add up to a lot money-wise, it’s a fairly painless way to earn a few.

  5. It’s been a while since I’ve completed a survey for them. But, when I was active, I found them to be on time with payment…no problems whatsoever.

  6. I have tried for a couple of years to get into Pinecone. I think it is now more of the challenge that makes me want to get in than the actual money. lol.
