Would you like another place to sell your used books and textbooks? Would you be interested in a way to get the best price? Would you also like a list of trusted vendors that would buy your books for you? Well, Bookscouter might be what you’ve been looking for.
What is Bookscouter?
Since 2007 Bookscouter has become a site which allows you to create an account and search for vendors to sell your used books and textbooks for the best price. There is also a Bookscouter app for iPhone and Android users. Bookscouter is also free to join.
While there is no shortage these days of online sites to sell used books (eBay, Amazon, etc.), it is hard to know if you are getting the best price for your books. Bookscouter will allow you to enter the ISBN of your book and then it will render a search of possible vendors and what they will pay you for your book.
The site also has a list of trusted vendors that you may even contact or search for yourself. Each vendor is different as far as what they will accept for the condition of the book, how fast they pay, and how they pay. Most of them do use either PayPal or will mail you a check.
For antique books, it is recommended that you find an ABAA (Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association of America) Seller near you.
How Does Bookscouter Work?
Once you decide which books you wish to sell, go to the Bookscouter website. Type in the ISBN and pull up a list of vendors where you could sell your books. Pick the vendor you wish to sell to and then print out a prepaid shipping label, and inform them how you want to be paid.
Don’t just look at the prices. Also look at the vendor’s feedback and ratings before choosing.
What Tools Does Bookscouter Offer to Help Book Sellers?
Booksellers can all benefit from Bookscouters’:

There is also Bookscouter Pro which allows you to search up to 3,000 ISBNs in a single request.
