Iconzoomer is an app you can download to your Apple or Android device and earn by taking pictures and uploading them. I reviewed Foap, another money-making picture app, over at my extra cash site and thought this one might be similar, but it’s actually a lot different.
How Iconzoomer Works
After you have the app installed, you should get occasional little assignments from Iconzoomer on your phone notifying you of different little tasks. It might be something like, “Take a pic of your shoes,” or “Take a pic of your lunch,” etc. Then, you just do as requested and upload the photo you took to Iconzoomer.
How You Earn Money
You earn credits for every picture you upload that you can redeem for different things — including Paypal cash, Amazon gift cards, or charitable donations to UNICEF. Every picture you take earns you five to ten credits and you can redeem once you have 200 credits. Currently 200 credits is equivalent to $10 in Paypal or $10 to Amazon. Iconzoomer pays out redemptions once a month.
Why does Iconzoomer need this data?
I was wondering that and figured it was for market research purposes. Here is the explanation on the Iconzoomer website:
By collecting snapshots from all over the world Iconzoomer helps companies and public institutions with insight of trends and unmet needs. This insight is used for designing the products and services of tomorrow.
This app has so-so reviews. You can read the reviews at Apple here and the reviews at Google Play here. It seems there are a lot of people who claim it crashes on them frequently, but hopefully that’s a bug they either have or will work out at some point.
As far as payment being made, the person who wrote this Squidoo lens has reported being paid by Iconzoomer and shared payment proof.
