BoostCTR Update – My Experience and Tips

August 6, 2012 18 comments by

Get Paid to Write AdsNow is a good time for me to give an update on my experience with BoostCTR since I have been actively using the site. I did a write-up on them back in May, but hopefully this will provide more detail.

If you never read the review I wrote,  you can check it out here. But basically BoostCTR is a site where you can potentially get paid for writing short ads. You know the ads by Google that you see on some webpages that are just text? Those are the kinds of ads you write here. These are short and you only have to come up with 30…

Work at Home For Shmoop

June 12, 2012 1 comment by

Shmoop is a company that’s relatively new with lots of home-based jobs available! However, most of the openings do require a degree and they claim on their site that the majority of their contributors have actually been teachers in the past. So this is probably ideal for someone with a background in education.
What is “Shmoop”?
Primarily the company creates fun, interesting study guides and test prep content in a variety of different subjects for students. They are looking for people who can inject a lot of personality and humor into what they write. Shmoop’s resources are used by teachers and also homeschooling parents. If you’d like to understand more about what they do, you…

Get Paid to Write For Magazines

February 1, 2012 2 comments by

Get Paid to Write For MagazinesI’ve decided to make a list of some magazines that take article submissions from freelance writers. If you’re lucky enough to get published, you’ll be paid very well for your time and you’ll get to add being published in print to your resume/portfolio. This could possibly help you land better-paying writing work in the future. Also, if you’re a fiction writer, many of the magazines I’ve listed accept fiction short stories! There are a ton of these and I doubt I’ll get through all of them, but what I have below should get you started if this interests you. I’ve tried to make each link go the magazine’s writer submission information rather than just to their…

Three Ways to Get Paid to Write Reviews

January 13, 2012 0 comments by

Writing Sites Like TextbrokerThere are ways to earn a little money here and there for simply posting up short (or long) reviews of products or software you’ve tried. And for the sites I’m about to list, you don’t have to have your own blog or website to do it. These sites let you sign up and post the reviews directly. Please note that this isn’t really a work at home job, just something to do for extra cash. So, here are the three sites that I’ve discovered so far that will pay you for your reviews.

Get Paid for Writing Greeting Cards

November 5, 2011 6 comments by

Get Paid for Writing Greeting CardsIf greeting card merchandising doesn’t appeal to you, how about writing them? This sounds like very fun, interesting work to me because as we all know, greeting cards are very short and to the point. Usually you don’t need to write more than three or four lines max. Almost all greeting card companies (with the exception of Hallmark who doesn’t openly accept submissions) will consider work from freelancers. You may also be in luck if you’re an artist or a photographer because many of these places will accept freelance submissions in those fields too!
Is writing greeting cards as easy as it sounds?
Even though it seems like easy work to me, I keep…

Trivia Wars

Trivia WarsWhat is Trivia Wars?
Trivia Wars is a trivia site that allows users to register and play trivia games. They have been on the web since 1995! Trivia Wars also hires writers to write their trivia questions for them.

How much does Trivia Wars pay?
Various forum posts I have read online indicate that pay is .35 to .45 per question written. However, I sent an email to someone at Trivia Wars today to find out if they are still hiring, and he said that pay varies depending on assignment.

What method of payment does Trivia Wars use, and when do they pay?
Unless things have changed, Trivia Wars pays via paper check mailed to your address. Pay…
