May 24, 2013 4 comments by

speechpad transcriptionOne of my readers, Mary Ann, passed along some interesting information that I am excited to share with you. She works for a company called Speechpad, and they currently need lots of work from home transcribers. The best part is that you have a shot at this job even without transcription experience. You just need to be able to pass a test (more on that below).

Speechpad currently has a few major projects going on and they need a lot of workers, so I told Mary Ann I would share the info with you all. Before I get into it though, I need to mention that much of this work is done through Amazon Mturk, although Speechpad…

Aspire Lifestyles – Work From Home Brand Ambassadors & Concierges

May 16, 2013 3 comments by

aspire lifestyles work at homeAspire Lifestyles is a company that used to be known as VIP Desk. They are currently hiring people to work from home as brand ambassadors and home-based concierges. Training for each position is coming up in June 2013, so I figured now is a great time to get some info out there in case any of you are interested in applying for either position.

Currently Aspire Lifestyles is only hiring people who are based in the US, but they do have sections for Canada and Europe so I’m assuming they anticipate having openings for people in these areas in the future.

Work at Home Jobs at Xerox

April 26, 2013 0 comments by

xerox work from homeWe’ve all heard of the Xerox company — they are kind of a big deal! I was a little surprised to discover that they actually have work from home positions available on a regular basis, including occasional data entry work! Another interesting fact about Xerox is that they are more than just copy machines and paper products. Some of their home-based positions involve things like doing Medicaid research and analyzing medical claims.

So how can you apply to work for Xerox from home? What jobs do they have available? Is it open to everyone or limited to certain states? How hard is it to get hired? I wondered all of the above and got to work doing…

Working at Home as a Medical Coder

April 12, 2013 8 comments by

work-at-home-medical-coderA lot of people want to get into medical coding because they’ve heard this is a job you can do from home. However, just like medical billing, this isn’t something you can just dive right into and start doing. Almost every company that would hire you to do this is going to require that you have certification before you can start work and possibly a degree as well.
What do medical coders do?
Medical coders convert medical services rendered into codes for billing. There is a code for pretty much every medical service out there, and you will see these listed when you receive a bill from a doctor and/or hospital. There are also unique…

Transcribe From Home for Verbal Fusion

April 7, 2013 1 comment by

verbal-fusion-transcriptionVerbal Fusion is a company regularly hiring transcribers to work from home. They advertise 100 percent US-based transcription, so they are only open to hiring people who live in the US. From what I gather they may hire people who are fairly new to transcription, but you will have to pass a test in order to be considered. Your chances of doing well on the test are probably best if you’ve at least done some transcription work before.

The company handles general, legal, and also medical transcription.
How much does Verbal Fusion pay?
They do not list the rate of pay on their website. When you apply, you are asked to let them know your desired rate per…

What Is Virtual Bee?

March 29, 2013 1 comment by

data entry for virtual beeVirtual Bee is one of the few online companies in existence that you can do legitimate data entry work from home for. You may already be familiar with this company if you know anything about Key for Cash, which is the name Virtual Bee used to go by. Why have I decided to review Virtual Bee when I already have a Key for Cash review on this blog? The reason is primarily because they are going by a different name now and also some changes have been made since I did the old review. However, I still plan to leave the old review in place because it has some value (particularly…

Working as a VA for Fancy Hands

October 26, 2012 42 comments by

Virtual Assistant From HomeA few months ago, I managed to get in with Fancy Hands. There is already a review of them up that I wrote last year, but I wanted to point out a few things now that I have some personal experience.
It’s a Good Job
I really, really enjoy the work. It’s fun to help others and do these little tasks. I think one of my favorite things about it is that you never know what you’re going to be doing. It could be anything from researching hotel costs in some foreign country to calling a place of business to find out if they have something.
It’s Flexible
