December 3, 2012 2 comments by

sell your notes at flashnotesExtra money is something that a lot of college students are looking for, and today I discovered another way you can earn it for something you may already be doing if you’re in college — taking notes for class.

Flashnotes is an interesting site that allows you to upload and sell the notes you take and flash cards you create. There is of course also an option to buy notes and flash cards if you need them.
How much can you earn?
It depends on what you set the price of your notes at. Obviously you would want to keep the budget of the average college student in mind, so I would suggest not…

Making Money With Teachers Pay Teachers

October 5, 2012 4 comments by

make money at teachers pay teachersI came across this interesting reader tip on one of my favorite savings blogs, Money Saving Mom, about a site called Teachers Pay Teachers. I had never heard of this one before even though it has existed since 2006. This company offers a really interesting way for teachers to earn money selling their educational materials. So if you are a teacher/educator, you may find you can make some good extra money by using this site.
How It Works
After creating your account, you can upload your some of the materials you use in your classroom like lesson plans, worksheets, tests, activities, etc. that you feel would be useful to other educators. You do have to…

Make Money Selling Kid’s Clothes to thredUP

July 18, 2012 4 comments by

If you’re like most parents,  you have plenty of kid’s clothes that you need to get rid of on a regular basis because of how quickly kids outgrow their stuff! You might have another child or know someone else you can hand these clothes down to, but if you don’t you can earn money selling them with thredUP. This is actually a pretty unique opportunity and thredUP has lots going for it when compared to Ebay, Craigslist, etc. Here’s how it works:
Order a thredUp Bag
The first step is ordering a thredUP bag to put your kid’s clothes in. You do have to pay a $4.95 deposit to get this bag, but they refund that to you…

Build Your Own Online StoreIf you’re creative and you are pretty good at making or coming up with your own artwork and designs, you may be able to earn some money on the side by building your own online store to market your designs with Zazzle. This site reminds me a lot of Cafe Press actually, it is basically the same thing. If you aren’t creative but you do have your own blog or website, you can still earn a little bit of money through Zazzle by referring others there to buy products you like.
Setting Up a Store
If you have some designs you’d like to sell (something you drew either…

Get Cash For Textbooks With eCampus.com

November 12, 2011 5 comments by

Get Cash For TextbooksA few months ago I did a post on a master list of websites to use to sell your old books and textbooks. eCampus is one site that was on that list, although they only accept used textbooks, not used books. They are one of the more reputable textbook buyback sites.
Here’s how eCampus works in detail:

  • Visit their website and punch in the ISBN number on your textbooks (usually located by the barcode)
  • If you see a buyback price you like, select the book or books you want to sell to them
  • Go through the buyback process, print out your free shipping label, stick it on the box, and mail

November 2, 2011 4 comments by

Cash for Cell PhonesIf you’re anything like me, you’ve probably got some old cell phones, mp3 players, and other electronics that are either non-working or you aren’t using. Most of our old electronics are either not working or not working that well, and for that reason I haven’t given them to anyone or tried to sell them. And I honestly feel guilty for just tossing things like that in the trash because it’s common knowledge that doing that is pretty bad for the environment. So what can you do with all that old junk?

Sell Your Creativity With a CafePress Shop

September 20, 2011 4 comments by

Sell Your CreativityCafePress is a website that specializes in selling T-shirts, mugs, hoodies, tote bags, and more with various logos. If you have a graphics program, you can create your own online CafePress store and design logos to go on these products. Once you learn how to sell your art online through their website and your items sell, you earn royalties. There are no upfront fees for starting your own store, and you do not have to concern yourself with inventory or anything like that. Just create the logos, set up your store (which they say only takes a few minutes), and pick the products you want your logos to go on. CafePress currently has over 250 different products…

Sell Books, Video Games, and More With Glyde

August 16, 2011 3 comments by

Glyde ReviewAfter writing about Cash 4 Books the other day and thinking about how inconvenient it may be for some people to come up with their own boxes/shipping envelopes if they sell books there, I remembered another website I came across last year around Christmas when I was shopping for a good book for my niece. It’s called Glyde, and the great thing about this site is that you can not only buy books, video games, CD’s, and other media items used at excellent prices, you can also sell your own. And the best part is that they conveniently provide the shipping materials (although not free)  – if your item sells. Here’s some more info on…
