Asking & Answering Questions for Help Owl

March 25, 2013 0 comments by

answering questions for help owlHelp Owl is a question/answer site similar to Web Answers, Yahoo! Answers, and so forth. I at first thought that this one may be a waste of time because it pays you in points and it doesn’t appear you receive actual cash for your participation, but they do have an option to redeem for Amazon gift cards and most people can always use those. The site also appears to be fairly active. At a glance I can see that questions get posted every few minutes.
How do you earn points on Help Owl?
As stated above, you earn points for asking and answering questions. You can also earn them for doing other things on the…

Get Paid to Be an Expert for Directly

February 7, 2013 2 comments by

directly-expertsDirectly is a website made up of a large community of experts who are knowledgeable about various companies, products, and services. You can apply to be an expert at Directly and get paid to work from home, answering questions people submit. This seems to be kind of a new thing and there’s not a lot of feedback out there yet on it, but it certainly seems promising so I hope that people who have applied in the past begin hearing back soon (right now a lot of people are on a wait list).

The company is based out of San Francisco and has been around since 2011.
How does it work?
If you’re accepted as an expert for a…

Getting Paid to Answer Questions From Home

July 14, 2012 13 comments by

If you really enjoy doing research and/or sharing your existing knowledge, you might be cut out for getting paid to answer questions from home. You may already be aware of several sites where you can do this, but hopefully in the list I’m about to provide below you’ll find a few new ones that you’ve never tried out.

For most people, this kind of work is just extra money (some of these sites might be more lucrative than that, but I haven’t tried them all so I can’t vouch for each one). But if extra money is something you need, you might find this a lot more enjoyable than taking paid surveys or…

Make Money Answering Questions for Askables

September 22, 2011 5 comments by

Make Money Answering QuestionsAskables is another question-answering website that you can use to earn ad revenue. Another thing you can do here is write articles — and Askables used to pay you cash for doing this, but because many people abused the privilege and posted content that was not original, Askables has temporarily stopped paying upfront. So now ad revenue is the only way you can earn. Still, it looks interesting to me and I thought I’d do a quick rundown of it for you here:
How does writing for Askables work?
Askables has a points system and you also get ranked on different levels. The levels are Contributor, Helper, Expert, and Top Expert. The revenue share you can…

Web Answers Review

answer questions and get paid at web answersWhat is Web Answers?
Web Answers is a question/answer website very similar to Yahoo! Answers. The difference here is that you can get paid by Google Adsense for answering the questions users of the site post. A user posts a question, and people who are signed up to be “experts” on the site can answer them. The user then votes for the best answer of all the answers he receives. The person whose answer was voted best earns the Adsense royalties from the question. Adsense ads will display every time someone looks at the question, and the user who posted the answer will receive a portion of the earnings from clicks to the Adsense…

What is Experts123?
Experts123 is a site that has both articles and a question/answer section, similar to Yahoo! Answers. The difference is that you can get paid for answering questions on Experts123. You can also get paid for writing articles on Experts123. Topics cover absolutely everything. It’s a good place to go for both finding and submitting information. There is also an option to apply as an “expert” in a certain category. Details on this are slim, but I get the impression you can earn more money as an expert. You can earn money through both upfront pay and revenue share with Experts123.

Ether

Ether is an interesting service that allows you to “Sell What You Say,” and yes, that’s their tag line. Basically, you sign up and they give you a toll free number. People call you on this number, which you have set up to forward to your home phone, and you get paid for giving them advice on whatever subject you specialize in.

How much does Ether pay?
You set your own rate with Ether, and the customer cannot talk to you until they’ve prepaid that rate with their credit card. This is good because you will be paid for your time. Ether does take a commission off your earnings, however…

What is Just Answer?
Just Answer is a website where people can ask any question in a variety of different categories and have their question answered by an expert in the field. It is similar to Live Person, except it appears to be just web-based, no chat programs or anything like that. They hire people to become experts and answer the questions.

How much does Just Answer pay?
They are not very clear on this. If someone has any input, I’d appreciate any comments. From what I’ve gathered, experts are paid a percentage of whatever the customer is offering to pay for the answer. Unfortunately, there is no information available that I can find as…

What is Live Person?
Live Person is a website connecting people to experts on a variety of subjects. A person who wants to talk with an expert about something he needs to know can contact someone through Live Person to get the information he needs. The expert in question charges for their services, and Live Person has experts for a variety of different categories. There does seem to be a lot of self-proclaimed psychics on there. Apart from that, you can sign up to be an expert in almost anything. If computers are your thing, you can sign up to help people out with tech problems. They also need experts for homework help, things like that.

What is Weegy?
Weegy is a question/answer expert site, similar to ChaCha or KGB. A person can either call or text in questions and have them answered by an expert. I originally had this listed under non-text answering jobs, but I discovered that there is an option to text in questions at 707 GoWeegy. Feel free to try it out for yourself and see what happens! Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe a person can ask questions via their computers as well as text or call. They hire people to become experts and answer any questions that their automated computer “Weegy” cannot handle on its own.

What is 63336?
AQA/63336 is a text messaging service like ChaCha and KGB. It’s actually the only other service very similar to those two that I even know about. By “similar” I mean human-powered and not automated. A person can text any question to their number and expect a response from a real, live person. Customers are from the United Kingdom and Ireland, but they also hire people outside these areas, including in the United States.

When and how do they pay?
