Aspire Lifestyles is a company that used to be known as VIP Desk. They are occasionally hiring people to work from home as brand ambassadors and home-based concierges. Currently Aspire Lifestyles is only hiring people who are based in the US, but they do have sections for Canada and Europe so I’m assuming they anticipate having openings for people in these areas in the future.
The Brand Ambassador
Aspire Lifestyle’s brand ambassador does phone work that will involve customer support and also occasionally a little upselling. You refer their customers to pre-screened home-improvement contractors in their area and additionally schedule appointments for them. The hours are part-time, up to 34 per week, and they have several different shifts available, weekends/holidays required. Pay is $8.50 an hour plus commission. Paid training. This is a phone job requiring a quiet environment. You will need a high school diploma minimum, but they prefer if you’ve had some college as well, along with previous sales and customer service experience.
Also worth noting that this is not a “no land line” position, at least not to start with. You have to a land line that is not a cordless phone or a handset. Has to be corded. Also no wireless internet connection, and you must use a PC, no Mac. Sorry Mac people! I don’t know why so many wah companies won’t let you use them. I guess their software isn’t compatible or something.
The Home-Based Concierge
This position is a little more limited. They are only hiring in specific areas and they have a longer list of requirements. Currently they need concierges in or near Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, or Las Vegas. What you are doing is helping Aspire Lifestyle’s customers via phone, email, and/or chat with their various requests regarding Dining, Entertainment, Travel, Sports and Recreation, Tourist and City, Household, Shopping, and Unusual Requests. This will involve research as well as a lot of customer interaction and possibly some outbound calling. You’ll have to commit to 34 hours per week, with weekend and holiday work required. Pay is anywhere from $11 to $13 per hour depending on your qualifications, and your training time is paid. You will also need to have some college under your belt, and a degree is actually preferred.
Working from home for Aspire Lifestyles also means you have to undergo a credit, criminal, and employee reference security check. Also want to point out that even though the requirements say you need a corded land line, it does say at the bottom of the post that within 60 days of work, you will be required to switch to Voip.
As always, I checked around for feedback on Aspire Lifestyles, but there isn’t anything yet. The company is the result of a merger between VIP Desk, International SOS, and another company called EMSM. The merger took place earlier this year. For what it’s worth, feedback on VIP Desk from former home-based workers has always been somewhat mixed. I guess we will just have to wait and see how things pan out as a result of this merger.
