There are some things you can do to earn money that are really outside the norm! Things unlike transcription, data entry, writing, etc. I’ve definitely come across (and also reviewed some things) that are not very traditional. So I thought this would be a fun post to do since there are so many of them.
The following opportunities are fairly unique in nature:
- Viggle – This is a smartphone app that allows you to earn rewards for watching TV. It can hear the TV shows as they are on and awards points in exchange for what you watch.
- Ticket Puller – Paid to pull event tickets for people who want tickets. Earn a commission of purchase price.
- Slice the Pie – Paid to listen to and rate music
- Humanatic – Paid to listen to recorded phone conversations and label them
- GoDialing - May pay your mortgage if you’ll let them paint your house with an ad. Not everyone qualifies.
- Coupon Chief – Just reviewed this yesterday! Find coupon codes & get paid if someone uses what you found
- Paid to drive – There are a few companies that will pay you to drive your car around if (similar to the house-painting above) you agree to let them put their ads on your car.
- Park at My House – List your available parking space on their site and get paid if someone rents it out.
- National Food Lab – Must live in or near Livermore, CA for this one. Sign up to be a taste tester and get paid to try new foods.
- Share Magnet- Get paid to share links with your friends on Facebook and Twitter
- Moolala – Paid for sharing daily deals with your friends/followers (if they purchase the deal)
- Sumballo – Another “paid to find/share deals” site
- Amusement Advantage – A company that will pay you to visit amusement/theme parks (like mystery shopping)
- Shvoong – Get paid to write book or movie reviews/summaries on Shvoong. The pay is just royalties and they pay ten percent of their ad revenue to you.
- We Go Look – Become a “looker” for We Go Look and get paid to look at things for people (ex. check out a car that’s for sale for someone who can’t do it or a rental property)
- Vayable – Become a city guide for Vayable and make money showing others what you love about your town
- Terracycle – This company actually wants to pay you for your garbage
- Nexercise – This smartphone app may reward you for sticking to your fitness goals
- SBKC – This company will compensate you for your junk mail
- Sponsored Tweets – Paid to tweet ads out on Twitter. Works best if you have lots of followers.
- Staree – Make money by sharing photos on Facebook/Twitter
Know of something else that’s a little different? Please share!

Just wanted to share that Terra Cycle is not really a way to make money. It’s primarily for fundraising for schools and charitable organizations. “TerraCycle points can be redeemed for a variety of charitable gifts, or for a payment of $0.01 per point to the non-profit organization or school of your choice.”
