work at home helpConsider this your work at home starting point. Each link below will take you to a post or article I’ve written covering some of the most commonly asked work at home questions I get:

Getting Started

I wrote this last year. It just covers some things you should think about before starting to work from home. It definitely helps to have a “plan” in mind before you begin.

Work at Home Options

This article covers different things you can do from home if you are looking for real money that could be considered an income. There are also a few options listed for extra cash, which definitely comes in handy sometimes!

Daily Job Leads

This is the section of my site where I post new work at home job leads. I try to update this Monday through Friday. I also do job leads on Saturdays, but these are sent out in my weekly newsletter on Saturday or Sunday and then published to the main site on Monday. You can become a subscriber if you would like to get job leads to your inbox one day during the weekend (per my privacy policy, your email address will not be shared!).

Non-Phone Options

Need a non-phone job? You are not alone! These are in very high demand as so many of us have children and can’t comply with the “no background noise” requirement that many of the phone jobs come with. This post covers the most popular non-phone work at home options.

Working a Phone Job Around Kids

If you must take a phone job and you do have kids, you may be able to work it around them. I did some research to find out how other people manage and my findings are included in this post.

No Land Line Work at Home Jobs

This is a list of work at home phone jobs that do not require the use of a land line (which many people are not using anymore).

Phone Jobs Where Background Noise is OK

Does a phone job from home interest you, but you know you can’t do anything about the “no background noise” requirement that most of those jobs come with? I made a list of phone jobs where background noise is actually encouraged!

Work at Home Jobs Paying Weekly or More Often

Do you need to get paid weekly, or even more often than that? I know that’s my favorite way of getting paid :) The post above is a list of jobs and earning opportunities where it’s usually possible to get paid every week or more.

Work at Home Companies That Hire You as an Employee

Don’t want to work as an independent contractor? Then you’ll be happy to know there are some companies that will hire you to work at home as a regular employee.

Check out the list here.

Five Sites for Fast Cash

Do you ever find yourself in one of those little financial emergencies? For example, maybe you need to go somewhere today and don’t have any gas or any money to get it? Or perhaps you need to pay for something but you’re a few dollars short of what you need and don’t have the means to acquire a little extra before payday? Then the sites listed in this post might help you because you can use them all to get paid fast — as in, today or within a few days :) The money is not normally much, but it’s a fast few extra dollars when you need it.

Read this post to find out where you can go for quick cash.

Work at Home Jobs With No Set Schedule

If you need to work on your time and not someone else’s, this post might help you. I did some research and tried to find the jobs that are either extremely lax when it comes to scheduling or actually allow you to log on and off and work when you want throughout the day and night.

Back-Up Work

It’s never a good idea to have just one way to earn money from home. This post covers lots of things you can do when there is down time at your current work at home job or if you just want a little something to do on the side.

Your Best Bets for Data Entry Work From Home

This post covers your most realistic options for work at home data entry. This is something I am asked about repeatedly and unfortunately, the answer is that the things that are legit either pay horribly or hardly ever hire because they have such low turnover.

Read the post here, and you may also want to read this post about typing jobs from home (something else I get asked about almost as much as data entry).

Money-Earning Directory

This is a directory I made of sites you can use to earn money. I am always either adding or taking links away from this directory as new companies pop up and old ones go under, so it’s good to check regularly to see if anything has been added. I’m going to start posting underneath it when new things have been added so it will be easier for you to check and see what has been put in recently.

Work at Home for Canadians

I’m from the US and so are the majority of my readers, but I know I have some Canadian readers as well who would love to see more job listings they could apply for. I’ve gotten so many emails requesting this that I’ve created a list of work at home companies that do hire Canadians. I hope this helps you out some if you are from Canada! I try to update it as I come across new things, so it wouldn’t be a bad idea to bookmark it.

My Top Picks for Extra Money

Extra money adds up! After more than five years of doing paid surveys, product testing, and other little fun side jobs, I can vouch for this. I made a list on my other site that has my top picks for extra cash. These are great for when you need a break from the monotony of your real job or if you just have some time to kill and want to do something that earns at least some small change.

Go here to read my top picks. Note – these change often as I find new, promising programs or stop using others.

I hope that if you are confused about working from home, the links above can help you find a little direction. Good luck!

Would you be willing to do phone work? If you have any customer service experience at all in your background (and yes, cashier type work counts for that) then there may be a lot of companies you could consider.
