Stella and Dot is another direct selling company. They specialize in jewelry, which they describe as a step above costume jewelry although not quite fine jewelry. Stella and Dot does have some pieces made of 24 and 14 kt gold, sterling silver, and they also use semi-precious stones. They have been around since 2006, and their stuff is nice enough that they already have several celebrities that wear their jewelry.
How much can you make with Stella and Dot?
You earn 25 percent base commission off all your sales, and you can earn more commission off people you refer to be Stella and Dot “stylists,” as they call them. This commission rate varies depending on your stylist rank and monthly sales amount. There are also bonuses and other incentives you might occasionally qualify for.
How much does it cost to get started with Stella and Dot?
You have to pay $199 to get your startup kit, in addition to tax and shipping. For this, you can pick out $350 worth of jewelry for samples to get started. You may also qualify for a 50 percent off discount if you want more jewelry in addition to what your $350 covers. They run different promotions at different times, so the deal you get might vary depending on when you sign up. The kits comes with some business supplies, but you will have to order any that you need that are not included. Every year you have to pay a $59 renewal fee.
Do you have to have home parties with Stella and Dot?
Stella and Dot calls these “trunk shows,” and yes, you need to have them. However, you can also sell their products individually and online.
Is there a minimum sales amount to remain active with Stella and Dot?
No, there are no minimums to remain active. You do have to meet certain sales requirements to keep earning off your referrals, however.
Do you get your own website with Stella and Dot?
Yes, you get an e-boutique with Stella and Dot so you can sell their stuff online and earn commission.
Is it worth it?
There are quite a few people who are happy selling Stella & Dot, and the jewelry is fantastic! I think the $59 renewal fee every year isn’t so great since I haven’t seen too many other direct sales companies that charge this. I guess it just depends. Their jewelry is nicer than Premier, but Premier gives a better commission rate. On the flip side, Stella and Dot is fairly new, which means that there aren’t too many consultants out there to give a person who signed up competition.
